Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director to lead our North American operations and drive strategic growth across the region. This is a senior leadership role with broad responsibilities across business development, scientific operations, and team management.

As the outgoing Director transitions to a global role, this is a unique opportunity to step into a well-established leadership position and shape the future of aquaculture diagnostics in North America.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow WellFish Tech’s North American business unit.
• Oversee the setup and expansion of laboratory operations.
• Manage budgets, financial planning, and performance reporting.
• Build and lead a high-performing scientific and commercial team.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with global objectives.
• Drive customer acquisition and maintain strong client relationships.
• Represent WellFish Tech at industry events, conferences, and workshops.
• Ensure compliance with operational systems and global standards.
• Support internal and external R&D initiatives.

What we're looking for:

Essential qualifications & experience

• Advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or MBA) in a relevant scientific or business discipline.
• Proven experience in operational or commercial leadership roles.
• Strong background in aquaculture or life sciences.
• Demonstrated success in setting up and managing laboratory facilities.
• Solid financial acumen and budget management skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
